Shellie

Shellie is our operations administrator and works on the front line of vision service at our office. She provides the highest level of quality and care, coding and billing and has a detailed knowledge of current fitting standards and modern fashion trends in eye wear available today. Shellie brings to our practice an extensive knowledge of business and is excellent with patient relations. Shellie instructs contact lens patients proper care, insertion and removal of contact lenses. She is also a certified ocular hygienist and specializes in  microblepharo exfoliation.


Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Abby J. Small, O.D.

Dr. Abby Small has a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Medical Biology from the University Of New England in Biddeford, Maine. She received her doctorate of optometry from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2019. Her clinical rotations included VA and community healthcare in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.


Doctor of Optometry

Dr. Paige M. Small, O.D.

Dr. Paige Small attended the University of Maine at Orono and majored in Medical Biology for her undergraduate studies. She received her doctorate of optometry from the  Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2019, where she was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honors Society. Her clinical rotations included VA and community healthcare in New Hampshire and Vermont. Dr. Small offers comprehensive vision care to patients of all ages.

Optometric Assistant

Wanda

Wanda specializes in assisting our doctors by collecting your health information and inputting this information into your electronic health record, which allows the doctors more time to focus on your eye health needs. Wanda serves for support with equipment and technical procedures and has knowledge of current requirements of optometry standards.  Wanda's work ethic brings our patient care to a level of excellence.


Optometric Assistant

Sue

Sue is an optician and optometric assistant and has been with our practice since 2004. She helps to collect information from you and enter it into your record, perform various tests prior to you seeing the doctor and provide support services to the optometrist. Sue works closely with the doctor to ensure your comprehensive eye examination is done with precision and assurance. In addition, Sue is a dispensing optician making her as asset to cross covering our state of the art frame room.

Jane Mavor-Small

Jane is co-owner of Family Eye Care & Mavor Optical with her husband, Dr. Craig Small. She attended Newbury College in Boston, Massachusetts and got her degree as an optician and contact lens specialist. Jane manages the offices and overall operations and is committed to providing the highest quality of care and services to our patients at Family Eye Care & Mavor Optical.

Dr. Craig Small received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts with Honors. Dr. Small is a third generation Optometrist. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and Maine Optometric Association. Dr. Small is Board Certified and is committed to providing the highest quality of care to his patients. His professional experience includes knowledge in specialty contact lens fitting, diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, ocular trauma and primary care optometry.

Doctor of Optometry Interns

Our practice is proud to be a clinical teaching site for the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences School of Optometry. The optometry students rotate through our office during their 4th year optometry school. During their time at our office, they learn and develop their medical decision making and clinical skills under the care of our optometrists.
